NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria is the first and the foremost thing that candidates who want to pursue their further studies in MS, MD, MDS and Post Graduate diploma courses this year. An acronym for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test – Post Graduate, NEET PG is a national level eligibility cum entrance exam basis which admissions are given to students in the deemed universities, government and private medical as well as dental colleges all over the country. The exam replaced the AIPGMEE from 2020 after the Supreme Court of India wherein it directed the government of India to make NEET exam as the single entrance exam for admission to medical and dental colleges across India.

NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria is the first thing that candidates need to check whether they fulfil it or not. Checking NEET PG eligibility in advance is essential to avoid the hassles later on that may otherwise arise owing to NEET PG eligibility mismatch. The scores obtained in the exam are acceptable to top ranking medical colleges as well as dental colleges across the country. NEET PG eligibility, NEET PG syllabus and pattern is decided by National Board of Examinations (NBE). Consequently, there are some set rules and conditions that candidates need to fulfil to apply for NEET PG 2020, failing which they will not be able to sit for the exam.

NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are requested to read them very carefully and ensure that they don’t miss a single detail out of NEET PG eligibility criteria. This will help them ensure the whole process up to the exam and even until admission to medical and top dental colleges in India remains smooth.

  • Candidates having provisional MBBS passing certificates as per the criteria set by the Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS education that is either provided by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the State Medical Council are eligible to apply.
  • As per NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria, candidates should necessarily have or are expected to complete one year of internship on or before March 31, 2020. Candidates who are likely to complete their internship after March 31 are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have provided inaccurate or false information during the NEET PG 2020 exam registration process will not be allowed to take the exam or be the part of any further proceedings.
  • It is mandatory for candidates to register with MCI or State Medical Council. They need to submit the documentary proof of the same at the time of counselling process.
  • As per NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria, the terms and condition for admission to MD, MS and PG diploma courses will be as per the medical institutes or university.

NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria: Points to Remember!

Checking every pointer of NEET PG 2020 eligibility Criteria and understanding it to the core is essential. Once candidates have been through the NEET PG eligibility criteria, here are some important pointers they need to keep in mind.

  • Candidates won’t be considered eligible should the medical institute they are pursuing MBBS or BDS has not been recognized by the MCI or State Medical Council.
  • Do check for the college and confirm whether a college accepts students who have not completed their internships or not.
  • NEET PG application fee for the General and OBC category is INR 3750, whereas for SC/ST/OBC categories it is INR 2750.
  • NEET PG 2020, like last year, will be held in an online (CBT) mode.
  • Apart from NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria, the next important thing that candidates need to keep in mind is the fact that NEET PG question paper for medical students will consist of 300 multiple-choice questions for MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses; whereas for MDS course, there will be 240 multiple-choice questions in all.
  • Students will get 3 hours and 30 minutes to solve NEET PG question paper.
  • Candidates who have completed their MBBS from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir will not be eligible for the All India 50 percent quota, unless the government of India have not recommended them to complete their degrees from the said states.  
  • There is no negative marking in NEET PG 2020 exam.
