There is a two year post graduate program in management which is offered as a full time residential course to the students. At post graduate level, there are two tier structures in diploma in management. The one of it includes the core curriculum which is mandatory credit course and compulsory non-credit course and a summer internship which is compulsory industry training between first and the second year. And there are elective courses which are optional courses offered in the second year of the course. At the first year, the main focus remains in the development of fundamentals of business via compulsory courses which covers finance, economics, marketing, organizational behaviour and operation systems. In the second year, there will be plethora of electives in different functional areas that the students may select any on the basis of their areas of interest. Students can even go for faculty supervision by undertaking term papers for delving deeper into the topics. In this post, we are going to talk about IIM Calcutta admission criteria 2020 - 20.

IIM Calcutta Admission Criteria 2020 - 20 for PGP and PGDM

The basic requirement is a three years bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline and the candidate must have scored at minimum of 50% marks or equivalent to CGPA whereas the same is 45% for SC, ST and person with disability. The graduation should be done from any university which is incorporated by Act of the central or state legislature in India or other academic institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The calculation of marks which an aspirant candidate has scored will be done on the basis of practice which the university/institute follows from where s/he has earned the degree. If there is no such system of converting the CGPA by maximum possible CGPA in to equivalent marks, the equivalence shall be set by dividing the CGPA of the candidate by the maximum possible CGA and multiplying the result with 100. The candidates who have just completed their degree and the candidates who are appearing in the final year of their graduation and the candidate who are in wait of the result, are also eligible to apply. In case if these students are shortlisted, they will be allowed for joining the program on provisional basis, only in case if the candidate submits the certificate by 30th June, 2020 which will state that the candidate has completed all the requirements for earning the bachelor’s degree. It has to be issued by the principal or registrar of the college/institute.

In case if the candidate hasn’t got the graduation results at the registration time, then s/he will have to submit the original mark sheets and certificates along with the photocopies as soon as the university publishes the result, but one thing to make sure that this has to be done by December 31, 2020 otherwise the candidate’s registration will be cancelled. If the candidate submits a mark sheet which doesn’t clearly mention that s/he has cleared the bachelor’s program, also if he submits a provisional certificate affiliated to any college/institute, s/he will have to submit a certificate of authorization from the university which would state that such an affiliated institute or college owns the power to grant a provision certificate on the behalf of the university.

The eligibility of the candidate can be verified at any stage by the institute. Candidates need to understand that mere qualifying the eligibility criteria won’t ensure the candidate’s shortlisting by the institute.
