What is MBA?

MBA is one of the most lucrative fields of study after graduation and offers aspirants promising careers as management professionals across various industries. A specialised program, correspondence MBA or regular course enables graduates to better understand various fields of business management, functions and hone their management skills. Distance MBA Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process and Entrance Exams

Candidates belonging to any stream who want to pursue a career as business management professionals can opt for MBA distance learning programs. Unlike the regular courses, doing MBA through correspondence does not have minimum pass percentage criteria in graduation. Part time MBA or MBA distance education courses can last anywhere between two to four years, depending on the college and university offering these courses.

Admission process for distance learning MBA program is not as complicated as it is for the regular courses from the top ranking colleges, universities and even IIMs throughout India. All that a candidate needs is a graduation degree and they can pursue any of the distance MBA courses. However, it is important to mention here that a few of the universities also conduct entrance tests that candidates need to clear to take admission.

College/ University specific entrance test – There is no CAT, MAT, ATMA, CMAT and GMAT that candidates need to pass to do correspondence MBA. Some university specific exams, though, in certain institutes, remain compulsory

1. IGNOU OPENMAT: Conducted by IGNOU, OPENMAT is an entrance test that candidates need to clear to take admission in various MBA programs. The test is designed to assess the candidate’s aptitude in management, general awareness, reasoning and quantitative aptitude. Other than MBA, OPENMAT is an essential criterion for admission to various distance learning MBA and management programs that Schools of Management Studies under IGNOU offers.

2. Anna University DEET: Anna University Centre for Distance Education conducts Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) for enrolling students in MBA programs. DEET test for two years, four-semester MBA distance education program, is aimed at identifying the aptitude and assessing the ability of candidates who want to enrol themselves in the MBA program at Anna University.

MBA in Marketing
