Shri Ram College of Commerce- Named after its founder, Lala Shri Ram is known as a benchmark of excellence and intelligence. Some of his accolades are the presidency of FICCI and the chairmanship of Governing body of the College.

The college attained the status of a degree college for B.A. (Pass) in 1932 and for B.A. (Honours) in 1943. Gradually, it added on courses like M.A. (Economics), M.Com and B.A. (H) Economics.

It was the occasion of its Silver Jubilee when the college was started to be known for its specialization in Commerce and Economics. That is when the name of the college was also changed, after the name of its founder and greatest contributor, to Shri Ram College of Commerce.

The college got its new building in the DU campus in the year 1954, which was inaugurated by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India.

SRCC became the first non-girls college to set a up a hostel exclusively for girls.

The College also provides world-class infrastructure and facilities to its students. All the classrooms are fully air-conditioned and are equipped with the LCD projectors, roll-down screens, green boards and podium for faculty. Apart from this, the college has a spacious library with seating capacity of 300 readers. There are more than 65,000 volumes on different subjects. The college also has state of the art Seminar room and Auditorium. Other facilities like the Swimming Pool, Computer Centres and hostel are also there.

The college also has a long tradition of producing some of the greatest individuals. Its notable alumni include Arun Jaitley (Politician), Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (Film maker), Rajat Sharma (TV Journalist), Gulshan Grover (Actor), Anshu Jain ( Co-CEO, Deutsche Bank), Lalit Suri (Hotelier) and many more.
