GATE Mechanical 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The GATE eligibility 2020 consist nationality, age limit, and educational qualification of the candidate. Aspirants need to satisfy all norms to apply and should update the eligibility degree details in the application form.

GATE Mechanical 2020 Eligibility- Nationality

  • Indian Nationals having a valid proof can apply for the GATE.
  • Candidates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka can also apply for the exam.

The nationality of candidates would be confirmed during admission process and he/she needs to submit an ID valid proof. Hence, recheck all entered details before finally submitting the filled GATE 2020 application form.

GATE Mechanical 2020 Eligibility- Age Limit

There is no age limit. Candidates of every age group having a valid educational qualification can apply.

GATE Mechanical 2020 Eligibility- Educational Qualification

Below are the minimum eligibility conditions. Candidates having any of the below listed qualifying degree can apply for the exam.

B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

B. Arch.

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Five years course)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

B.Sc. (Research)/ B.S.

Bachelor’s degree in Science (Post-Diploma/ 4 years after 10+2)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

M. Sc./ M.A./ MCA or equivalent

Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics / Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Int. M.E/ M.Tech (Post-B.Sc.)

Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year program)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Int. M.E./ M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2)

Integrated Master’s degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology (Five year program)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2019 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Int. M.Sc/ Int. B.S.-M.S.

Integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B. S./ M. S. program

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Professional Society Examination (equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch.)

B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. equivalent examinations of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/ UPSC/ AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India)

Completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses

 

 

For International Candidates-

Aspirants must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Post-graduate (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for Mechanical

Candidates need to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the Mechanical Engineering examination to get admission in PG courses. Here we have mentioned the previous year’s minimum marks to qualify the exam. The qualifying marks may vary on the basis of the difficulty level of exam and number of candidates appeared.

  • For General Candidates- 32.87
  • For OBC Candidates- 29
  • For SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates- 21
