CEED 2020, which is an acronym for Common Entrance Examination for Design, exam dates of which for the year 2020 have been announced. Conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programme, CEED exam is to be held on January 20, 2020, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The Master of Design course is offered at the IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. Whereas the PhD programme in the Design is offered at IISc Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay. Online registration process for CEED 2020 will start from October 9, 2020, official notification of which has already been made on IIT Bombay website.

Interested candidates who want to build a career in the field of designing need to pass CEED 2020 exam. To be eligible to apply for the exam and get admission in IITs or IISc, candidates should meet CEED 2020 eligibility criteria mentioned below. Application forms of the candidates who don't meet eligibility criteria of CEED 2020 will be rejected.
CEED 2020 application fee for the general category candidates is INR 2200 and INR 1100 for SC/ST/PwD/ Women nationals. For all others, CEED 2020 application fee will remain INR 2200. The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Candidates applying for CEED 2020 exam can pay application fee through debit/ credit card or via net banking by using the available payment gateways.

CEED 2020 application process will be available online at IIT Bombay website. Candidates can visit the website and fill online application form by following the guidelines given in CEED 2020 information brochure. Candidates who want to fill CEED 2020 application form need to follow the procedure mentioned hereunder.
Having knowledge of exam pattern helps candidates prepare well for the exam. When they know about the type of questions, time given to solve them and the marking system, they make an effective exam preparation plan. Candidates applying for CEED 2020 can check exam pattern below.
CEED 2020 exam pattern will consist of two parts: Part A (Computer-based) and Part B (Pen and paper-based). CEED 2020 Part A is an online exam containing 50 questions in all, divided into three sections and candidates will get one hour to solve the paper. The objective questions will be followed by MCQ, MSQ And NAT. The first section will contain 5 questions, the second section will contain 10 questions and the third section will contain 35 questions in all. Every right answer will help candidates fetch 2 marks, whereas there will be a negative marking of 0.6 marks in the first and third section.
CEED 2020 exam B part paper will be a pen and paper based exam of two hours duration. This exam is intended to test the candidate’s skill in designing and drawing. Candidates have to answer this hand drawing test in the same booklet that s/he gets in the exam and questions for them will be shown on their computer screens.

There is no syllabus for CEED 2020 as such and the best way to ace this exam is to keep solving the previous year question papers. As the candidates will go on solving CEED question papers, they will have a better idea of what can be included in CEED 2020 syllabus and the exam. The main subjects and areas remain Creative Writing Skills, Communication Skills, Colour Theory, Drawing Abilities and Skill, Design Concept, Develop Character, Develop Logo, Light and Shadow, Perspective, Logical Reasoning, Product Designing, Interactive Design, Design Problem Solving, Scale & Proportion, Visual Communication, Representation Technique, Sketching, Poster, Storytelling, Interface Designing, Poser, Visual Perception, Basics of material and manufacturing techniques.

The examination authority will provide CEED 2020 admit cards online. Candidates will be able to access and download the admit cards after December 25, 2020. The admit card will be an important document that candidates need to produce at the time of the exam, failing which they won’t be allowed to enter the exam hall. No hard copy of the admit cards will be sent to the candidates, so make sure you check the website and download it from there by entering your login details created while registering for the exam.
Once the test is conducted successfully on January 20, 2020, the CEED 2020 exam authority will announce the results on the official website. CEED 2020 result will be declared on March 05, 2020 following which the exam conducting body will also start releasing CEED 2020 scorecards. Candidates need to download their scorecards from the official website.
CEED 2020 exam for admission to Master of Design programme will be accepted by the following institutes of India:
The CEED 2020 exam will be conducted at 20 examination centres across India. Candidates will have to choose 3 centres of their choice while filling CEED 2020 application form. However, the final CEED 2020 exam centre allotment will be done on the basis of availability of seats.
