Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in the year of 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work and later in 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. It is declared as Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

There must be some choice and preferences of yours while selecting any college. So, it would be advisable for you to do a thorough research before selecting any college.
