Hi Bincy, you can opt for a lateral entry into 2nd year after you complete your Diploma. Different states conduct different entrance exams. For eg., West Bengal conducts its own entrancve exam called JELET. Various institutes also conduct their own exams  - AIEEE (not valid for NIT's), KIITEE, VITEE, AMU, LEET,IPUCET,LEET-TU and many others.
