Hi Fauzia,

First you should decide which course you want to opt for and then pick up a college/university as per your preferences. Sociology and Media Management are two completely different fields. So, you should first analyse your interest and aptitude and then select a college accordingly.

Here, we are sharing some basic details about both the above mentioned courses. Please take a look over these fields and select the suitable one.

Sociology is the study of society, the various interactions therein, the impact of various cultures on each other and the individual. Sociologists study human behaviour, which is greatly influenced and governed by social, religious and legal norms.

There are several career options available after BA sociology. Much depends on the aspect of the subject that has interested you during graduation which can lead to careers in social services, education, welfare services, government, criminal justice, counselling, communications and several others. A popular option for many is in the education arena. With a post-graduation in Sociology, there are a whole host of other options including, Human Rights Law, Social work, Market Research, Human Resource Management, Anthropology, Travel & Tourism, Teaching and many others, depending on your aptitude and interest. You can also get into research and become Data analyst, Survey researcher, Project manager etc. Besides this one can get jobs in government organizations as Personnel coordinator, Foreign service officer, Human rights officer etc.

Media Management, on the other hand, provides a unique approach to the study of media, combining theoretical study with the development of practical media and communications skills to provide employment to students in the mass communications industry in areas such as journalism, audio and video production, online information design and development, arts administration, event organisation, and government.

Now, let’s talk about the selection of college or university.

See, each student has some set of priorities bases which s/he selects a college subsequently. Such as, you can pick up a college based on its location, fee structure, infrastructure, placement, teaching method, reputation and so on. So, the choice of college completely depends on your own requirements.

Thanks!!
