Eligibility Criteria

You can apply for these professional programmes in beautician courses through two ways-

Candidates should have passed 10+2 level or equivalent from a recognised board, post that you can apply for these professional diploma/certificate programmes in hairdressing, makeup, etc.

Candidates should have completed their graduation in any stream from a recognised university or institute, post that you can apply for a diploma in cosmetology.

Admission Process

Although there are some common entrance exams for admission in various beautician courses, however, many colleges invite applications based on merit, for the aspirants who want to pursue their career in beauty and cosmetology.

The duration of the courses and the fee structure depends on the different colleges providing these courses.

Examination

CIDESCO- One of the most important examinations is Comite International d’Esthetiques et de Cosmetologie (CIDESCO) exam, which is conducted every year by the Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (ABTC). The Indian branch of CIDESCO conducts this examination for admission in certificate programmes. Several colleges are accreditated to CIDESCO who allot seats to the deserving candidates in their campuses.

At Post Graduate Level (Diploma)

Candidates planning to study further and pursue higher studies in beautician courses can choose one-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Beauty Technology and Cosmetology as their perfect choice. This subject covers all the important aspects of beauty and skin care with different specialisations according to one’s desire.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should meet the following requirement to apply for Post Graduate Diploma in Beauty Technology and Cosmetology-

Candidate should be at least 16 years of age to be eligible to apply for the same. Although it is not mandatory to have a formal qualification, however, various industries will require you to attend cosmetology school. It would be preferable if the candidate has studied Diploma in Cosmetology to get a better understanding of the subject.

Admission Process

Candidates will be admitted on the basis of their class 12th board exams result or on the merit prepared by the institute. Admission process will depend on either an entrance exam conducted by a particular college or merit list.

Generally, the duration of the programme is fifteen months; however, there are some colleges, which extend it to eighteen months depending on their course structure. The fee structure of Post Graduate Diploma in Beauty Technology and Cosmetology varies with different colleges providing this course. Diploma in Beauty Culture (PDC)

It is a course who wants to solve beauty problems. Candidates can acquire skills to enhance the client’s experience and make it even more soothing and be relaxing. It will include various sub-specializations in manicures & pedicures, waxing techniques, pressure points of face and body, facials and peels, threading, electrology, etc.

Syllabus

The syllabus will include cosmetic recipes, spa therapies, aromatherapy, facial hair removal, body art and nail art, personal grooming, rebonding, skin analysis and treatments, etc.

The course content in Diploma in Hair Designing includes Hair Trichology, Hair disorders, Henna Application/blow dry/ roller setting, Crimping/ironing/tong rod set, chemical job, etc.
