The School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi was established in the year 1941. After its inception the institute had only one department that was Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic. The institute was later affiliated with University of Delhi & also integrated with the school of Town and country planning. The institute provides quality education with experienced faculty members. The School of Planning and Architecture provides unique academic programmes for both Bachelor's & Master's level which is only available in limited institutes in India. The vision & mission of the institute is to make it into a distinguished centre of research, innovation, learning, capacity building and scholarly inquiry to become a globally competitive institution by 2025.
All the classrooms of the institute is well furnished with all modern facilities.
The college has well-equipped computer lab with broadband Internet connectivity and a host of required software.
The college has a well equipped and well stocked library. The college has Library cum reading room, well equipped with periodicals, text books, study material, major dailies and popular magazines for both students and faculty.
The institute provides hostel facilities for only those students who are residing outside Delhi.
