Rajalakshmi Engineering College is affiliated to Anna University. Rajalakshmi Engineering College was established in the year 1997 under the aegis of Rajalakshmi Educational Trust whose members have had consummate experience in the fields of education and industry. Campus life here stresses the importance of extra academic activities apart from academic learning, leading them to many new avenues. The college has well-equipped computer lab with broadband Internet connectivity and a host of other required software. There are more than 100 modern computers in the labs that facilitate in learning IT and also undertake research and data processing.
The College library is located in a spacious new building of 9000 Sq. ft. The library is open to students and staff members from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on all working days. The college has offers separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostel can accommodate 500 boys and 200 girls. Single room accommodation is given to the final years and PG students. They are also permitted to use their own computers in their own rooms. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for both boys and girls.
The College has a special Programme officer who was trained at the Madras School of Social Work.
