Madras Medical College (MMC) prepares dynamic researcher & physician for the medical domain through their various programmes. MMC is located in the city of Chennai previously known as Madras. College was commenced in the year 1850 for shaping future physician. In 1857 MMC got its affiliation from the University of Madras (UM). College first batch of students graduated in 1852 and were granted the Diploma of Graduate of the Madras. College has nine affiliated institutions in the health and medical field and each institute is well known for its services. The objective of the college is to produce dab hand physicians and researcher in the field of health and medicine.
The College has spacious and air conditioned classrooms, which are well equipped with modern facilities, such as audio systems, Overhead Projects. The seating are designed to provide students with complete comfort for the intense hours of classrooms teaching and interaction.
All the laboratories of the college are well equipped with modern facilities. The laboratory of the college assists learners and researcher in their programmes. The labs of the college is kit out apparatus like Petri dish, A glass flask, Disposable gloves, Microscope, Burette, Dispensable pipettes and Gas chromatograph.
The College library has a bountiful collection of latest books pertaining to medical field, journals, and periodicals. College has a separate reading room for learners and faculty where they can work on their programmes. The library of the college is air conditioned and kit out with all necessary amenities.
College imparts Separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The hostel of the college is well equipped with necessary amenities. Mess facility is also available for students, where students get delicious food.

Madras Medical College is one of the oldest medical institutes in Asia. It was established in the year 1664 as a small medical center to dispense health of the soldiers of East Indian Company. It is affiliated to Dr.MGR Medical University, Tamil Nadu and is accredited with Medical Council of India.
