Kirti M. Doongursee College (KMDC) comes under the aegis of “"Deccan Education Society's for imparting an education, which develops students both soul & mind. The college provides a combination of conventional & contemporary education for its students. In earlier 50s, the college was known as Bombay College, but later in 60s it was renamed as Kirti M. Doongursee College. The College is affiliated to the University of Mumbai for its various programmes. The objective of the college is to prepare such kind of efficient professional who have zest and endurance for their work & organization.
The College has spacious classrooms, which are well equipped with modern facilities, such as audio systems, Overhead Projects, LCD projectors, DVD players and television sets. A well-equipped Resource Generation Room is set-up for the faculty to prepare teaching material and carry out research in their subject. The seating contours are specially designed for comfort, which is necessary for concentrated study. They are designed to provide students with complete comfort for the intense hours
Kirti M. Doongursee College (KMDC) has laboratories with latest computers. It is well equipped. The equipment of laboratory helps in enhancing the learning process and in enabling the proper conduct of the university prescribed courses. All the computers are branded which are installed in three computers the Labs. For internet connectivity all the computers in the Lab and the office have a dedicated lease line.
College has bountiful collection of Journals, Periodicals & News paper & old Question Papers. College has a separate reading hall for the learners and faculty where they can research on new topics. In non paper collection college imparts CD and DVD of various domains. Book Bank facility has been made available to the academically backward students by the Department of Student Welfare of the University of Mumbai.

In extracurricular activities college has NCC for both boys and girls. College has a special women development cell. The objective of the cell is to create social awareness about the women’s problem and in particular to regarding gender discrimination.
