Government Engineering College Kozhikode (GECK) is one among nine prestigious Government Engineering Colleges in Kerala under Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala. GECK was begun in the year 1999 with B.Tech programs in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AE &I), Chemical Engineering (Ch.E) and Mechanical Engineering (ME). Structural Engineering (CE) program was begun in the year 2006 and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) program was begun in the year 2012. Notwithstanding B.Tech programs, the school conducts M.Tech programs in Signal Processing (AE &I), Energy Systems Analysis and Deign (ME) and Computer-Aided Process Design (Ch.E).The Institute currently offers 5 undergraduate and 3 post graduate programs. All programs up to 2014 admissions are affiliated to Calicut University. All B.Tech and M.Tech programs from 2015 admission batch onwards are affiliated to Kerala Technological University (KTU). All courses are approved. All courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Laboratory

  • The college has a state-of-art computing facility with high performance PC workstations. A LAN facility running on Linux Servers form the back bone of the centre. The centre is equipped with different computing environments like Unix, Sun Solaris, Linux, etc.

Library

  • The Technical Library and Documentation Centre has a vast collection of books, which satisfies the needs of the students of all branches. It is fully computerized and offers Photostat facility at subsidized rates. A large number of international and national technical journals and periodicals are subscribed in the library. The Placement Cell of the college is an organisation guided by faculty members and volunteered by students. The objectives of the units are to provide assistance and guidance for the students to achieve their career goals.n previous years, the PC were able to arrange campus recruitment programs. The organisations visited include, BPCL, L&T construction, MRF Tyres Ltd., INFOSYS, Synthetic chemicals etc.

The PC regularly organises training programmes on employability skills, aptitude tests, personality development, professional skills, and mock interview. .
