The Faculty of Natural Sciences was established in the year 1984 with four Departments. Three more were added after that and now the Faculty consists of seven Departments. Through its various departments, undergraduate, post-graduate and PG Diploma courses are offered by the Faculty along with the PhD Programmes in every sphere of Science subjects.

The Faculty consists of the following departments:

1. Department of Biotechnology: One of the courses of the department, M.Sc. Biotechnology is among the top 10 Biotech courses of the country according to an All India Survey. Faculty members have published over 100 research papers. Courses are at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. 

2.  Department of Mathematics: The Department successfully keeps up with the high-end requirements of the industry and focuses on the professional development of its students. Courses offered by the department are PhD (Mathematics), M.A./M.Sc. (Mathematics) (Self-financed, Evening), M.Sc.Tech. (Industrial Mathematics with Computer Application) (S.F.), M.Sc. (Mathematics with Computer Science), B.Sc. (Hons.) (Mathematics), B.Sc. (Hons.) (Applied Mathematics) 

3. Department of Geography: The ISRO, Government of India not only recognised this department as one of the leading centres for teaching Remote Sensing/Geographic Information System but also funded the enhancement of the GIS labs to promote applications of these techniques. The main areas of the department are Regional Development, Urban Geography, Environmental Studies, Agricultural Geography, Population Geography, Gender Geography, Social Geography, Transport Geography and Urban Environment. 

4. Department of Biosciences: This department incorporates Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics on equal footing with modern and classical Biosciences. In addition to well-equipped teaching and research laboratories, the department also maintains a Green House facility. Courses offered by the department are undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral in nature. 

5. Department of Computer Science: The Department, in order to cater to the requirements of interdisciplinary courses, invites guest teachers from institutes such as IIT Delhi, AIIMS, National Institute of Immunology, Jamia Hamdard University etc. The Department has computing labs, seminar room, a departmental library and four classrooms. It also has a Research Laboratory for research scholars in the Department. The whole Department is connected through a LAN in order to provide modern teaching and learning environment and fast access to the Internet. 

6. Department of Physics: The Department of Physics as an independent department was created in 1971. Over the year faculty members of the Department have been actively involved in research and completed a number of research projects funded by various agencies and produced more than 60 Ph.Ds, besides a large number of research papers in international journals and some textbooks which are used internationally. 

7. Department of Chemistry: Regular seminars are organised where distinguished scholars and scientists are invited to talk to the students. Research focus is on organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and material chemistry. The Department of Chemistry comprises the following courses: PhD (Chemistry), M.Sc. (Chemistry: Materials /Inorganic /Organic /Physical Chemistry), B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry.
