Department of Computer Science is a part of Vidyasagar University. The University Grants Commission provided the initial expenses for the setting up of the Computer Center and the Laboratories. On the recommendation of an expert committee AICTE accorded the necessary approval for conducting classes in MCA from the academic session of 1998.
