Department of Architecture and Interior Design, SRM University is a part of SRM University and approved by NAAC. The Department advocates a design philosophy that draws inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of India while simultaneously embracing the developments in science and technology, to produce architects of international competence.

Library

  • The School of Architecture has its exclusive art & architecture Library. It contains more than 3,000 volumes on architecture, painting, sculpture, graphic design, urban planning, and the history of art and architecture and subscribes to 5 international journals and 12 national journals. The library also contains a dedicated multimedia section, housing slides, CD ROMs and videos relating to art & architecture.

Hostel

  • There are separate hostels for men and women on the campus, with all the necessary facilities. Among the hostels on this campus, 9 are dedicated for men and 6 for women. All the hostels are well-equipped, with adequate ventilation and lighting facility. Each room is fitted with tube lights and fans, and each student is provided with a cot, chair and a table. Periodicals and newspapers are supplied to each hostel.

Placement & Training Cell  

The Placement and Training Cell, headed by a Senior Professor, helps students plan their career. It organizes

  • Interviews and group discussions - to familiarize students with standard selection procedures
  • Campus interviews - in association with large industrial and commercial firms and corporate bodies
