Co-operative Institute of Technology is affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute provides Bachelor of Technology course. 

College Facility

Laboratory

  • Well-settled computer laboratories with about 230 Intel Pentium/Celeron systems with multimedia facilities and a bunch of software. A well set lab which contains various industrial type process control equipments like level, pressure, temperature and flow control stations. Students are exposed to various control algorithms. Well set with several AC & DC motors, transformers working on 3-phase and single phase supply. This lab having a separate DC generator with the capacity of 18.5 HP, 220 V.

Library

  • The college has a good technical library consisting of mainly textbooks which are neatly classified and arranged. There is also a reference section in the library. Books are added on according to demand. Technical magazines and periodicals have been made available. The library has a good collection of CDs obtained along with magazines and books. The reading room is hugely popular and consists of dailies, both Malayalam and English.

Hostel

  • Admission to hostels is confined to the students of the Co-operative Institute of Technology, Vatakara.The hostel inmates are expected to follow the hostel rules strictly and as directed by warden and resident tutors.

ExtraCurricular

  • The institute has a registered N.S.S –Unit (100 Volunteers) operating under CUSAT –NSS Cell and this gives students a chance to engage in social service projects. The main aim of the scheme is to provide opportunities to the teachers and students to gain valuable practical experience through community service.

Placement

A Training and Placement Cell (TPC) functions in the college under the super vision of a faculty member for the purpose of identifying training needs of students and arranging training program in campus and off-campus and placement interaction with prospective recruiting firms. Soft Skill Development Program, invited talks, Seminars, Workshops and Mock GDs are recognized by the cell to instil confidants in students to face interviews.
