Centre For Earth Sciences,Indian Institute Of Science. The Centre focuses on interdisciplinary scientific research with the objective of expanding realm of knowledge in basic and applied earth sciences with specific reference to the Indian context and to provide quality education in the area of earth sciences. Broad research themes of interest to the Centre include natural hazards, reconstructing past environment and projections to future, surface processes and mass transport, and geology and environment including ground water pollution, medical geology and anthropogenic effects on the quality of environment.
