Placement

The Placement Cell of Bhaktavatsalam Memorial College for Women operates as an interface between companies and students and assists in organizing the placement process in a systematic and efficient manner for long-term and mutually beneficial relationship. The college has an active Placement Cell which provides placement opportunities to the students by inviting corporates and consultants.

The Placement Cell arranges and coordinates various programmes that aim in moulding the students on their abilities and aptitudes, strengths and weaknesses, fine tune presentation techniques and network with the BMC Alumni so as to meet the industry expectations in career building.

An interactive session was organized on 16th September 2011 on the topic “Earn while you learn”. Ms.Subhashini, HR Manager, HCL Technologies Pvt. Ltd., was the speaker with an active participation of around hundred students from the final year of Arts and Science streams.

A Campus interview was also held on 28th September 2011 and the selected candidates undertook on-the-job training at HCL.

The placement cell of BMC organized a workshop on “Employability Skills in Accounting Aspects” in association with IndiaCan Education Pvt. Ltd., on 14.08.2012.

Mr. G. Ramesh, Team Manager addressed the gathering with an active participation of around 150 students from the Departments of B.Com (Gen), B.Com (C.S), BBA, M.Com.

The need for analytical skill and divergent thinking was stressed upon and an aptitude test was conducted to test the accounting knowledge of the students. On 20th August 2012, Forebrain technologies Pvt. Ltd., a manpower agency in Chennai conducted a campus interview for the batch 2011 – 2012. Around 25 students from various disciplines participated and the following students were selected in Logica CGI as IT Consultants:

The placement cell of BMC organized an off-campus interview for the students which was held in Vel Tech, Avadi on 5th October, 2012. The following students were selected as Process Associate in HP Technologies Ltd.:

The students participated in SOKA CAREER EXPO12 held in Soka Ikeda College of Arts & Science for Women at Madhanagkuppam on 19th December 2012.

In addition, 52 students from our college who excelled in computer and accounting knowledge got an opportunity to attend the Job Fair organized by Sakthi Software Solutions at Sir M.C.T.M. Boys Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Purasawalkam on 24th February 2013. Some of the companies which participated in the Job Fair are as follows:

All the 52 candidates were offered job assurance on completion of their course.

The students are given a clear picture about the Job market and job opportunities in various sectors. The placement maintains an up-to-date database and job profile, recruitment pattern of the companies and thus helps each student to analyze and prepare to meet the industry expectations. In addition, efforts are made to create a sense of dignity, courage and confidence in the minds of students which help them in improving their personality.
