Assam Institute of Management, Guwahati was established in 1988, by the Government of Assam, to promote professional management in Northeast.Assam Institute of Management has been conducting Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) since 1994, approved by AICTE. Assam Institute of Management has pioneered world-class management education and executive development in the Northeast.This is the only institute in India, which is promoted by any state Govt. Assam Institute of Management is the only institute in North East India, which is offering IIM grade PGDBM course.
Assam Institute of Management has a placement cell, which trains students for the top-notch business houses. The placement cell of the institute is managed by the placement coordinator, fully dedicated prepares students for final interviews by organising seminar, workshop, group discussions and so on. Apart from this, placement cell imparts summer internship for its students.
