What do they do?

As an Airport Designer you will have to participate in public meetings, public hearings, agency meetings and will have to coordinated with airport users. You will be responsible for management, preparation and quality analysis and quality check of airport planning. You will also have to get involved in planning documents which may include master plans, airport layout plans, creation of alternatives and design standards for environmental assessments et al.

How do I get there?

Though there is no special course required to be an airport planner, a bachelor’s degree in architecture with airport planning as an elective subject can help you in building such specialised buildings. Thereafter, you can do specialisation and an advanced postgraduate diploma course in airport planning. Certain institutes have special short-term courses in airport planning where one can learn about the basics.
