The three-day conference (16th to 18th Oct 2015) at the Punjabi University in Patiala organized by its Department of History aims to bring together research scholars, historians, academicians etc working in South Asian countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Myanmar to come and participate and contribute towards covering the gap that exists in South Asian historical studies.
The main objective of the conference is to focus and comprehend in detail the patterns that exist between religion and polity and its social consequences during the different phases of history. It also aims highlighting the implications of such a pattern for contemporary South Asia.
