Aditya Institute of Management Studies & Research conducted an orientation session on 'Conquering stage fear and improving public speaking skills through dramatics'. The session was conducted by Ms. Nutan Raj, an acclaimed theatre personality and drama coach with her associates.

Helen O’ Grady drama system was founded in 1979 in Australia and is often a sought out medium of communicative art, where one experiences the benefits of learning and understanding various aspects of body language, voice modulation, appropriate responses, controlling emotions and putting forth ideas in an assertive manner.

The benefits of drama system of learning have been acknowledged world over, however not many educational institutes venture to explore the possibility of combining drama system to enhance students’ learning and personality. Aditya Institute of Management Studies & Research would probably be the first B-school in Mumbai to integrate “Communicative art & management lessons through drama” in its PGDM syllabus. The orientation programme helped the students to understand the effectiveness of the programme.

Fifty three first year MBA aspirants took part in this session which was entirely activity based that helped the students shed their stage fright and built a wonderful platform to explore communicative skill activities through drama.

The session was held at the AIMSR seminar hall where students introduced themselves through different activities. They also conceptualized and performed skits under the guidance of the professional facilitators. The performance of these skits helped the students to find their inner voice and hidden talent that the students thought never existed within them.

Reshma Bhatia an MBA aspirant remarked that this was the best experience of her life and was looking forward for more sessions.
