Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), the leading 3D animation and VFX Institute, has released the documentary “The Resilient Bangalore Traffic Cop.” The screening of the movie was done today at Office of the Additional Commissioner Traffic. Eminent personalities like Bangalore City Police Commissioner Shri Raghavendra H Auradkar I.P.S, Additional Commissioner of Traffic, Bangalore City Shri B. Dayananad I.P.S, Indian classical Danseuse Vani Ganapathy and artist Yusuf Arakkal graced the occasion. The release was also attended by all Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of Traffic.

The 17-minute documentary portrays the other side  of the Bangalore Traffic Police who are often perceived as malleable, physically unfit and unnecessarily obtrusive by depicting the police’s side of the story as more balanced and positive. It delves into the arduous lives of the cops and the health and safety hazards posed by their job.

The project has been filmed by a crew of 14 students from MAAC Bangalore centres, using professional, high end equipment, in collaboration with the Bangalore Traffic Police.  The crew of 14 students had been selected through a rigorous audition process from a pool of more than 200 students who were auditioned. The filming commenced on the 1st of April, 2014 under the leadership of Mr. Anto Ramesh Paul, the Zonal Technical Head, MAAC (South India) and mentorship of Shajan Samuel, Senior Vice-President, MAAC.

Bangalore City Police Commissioner Shri  Raghavendra H Auradkar I.P.S, Congratulated MAAC on this wonderful initiative and said this was very much required to change the perception of the Bangalore commuters towards Bangalore Traffic Police.

Additional Commissioner, Traffic Shri B. Dayananad I.P.S was moved by the movie and appreciated the sincerity in which MAAC students went about their job in making a landmark movie. He said this movie would improve the morale of the Bangalore Traffic Police.
