Manukau Institute of Technology Partners with Rizvi Education Society, Mumbai

Campuswalkin Expert updated on : 26 Feb, 2020 7

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT), Auckland, NZ and Rizvi Education Society, Mumbai. This agreement will allow Indian sub-continent students for the first time to begin their degree studies in India and conclude it in New Zealand. It will give students a unique opportunity to internationalise their degree and add to the global work-force.

MIT is one of New Zealand’s largest and most prestigious government Institutes of Technology with 16,000 students enrolled per annum and over 1,000 international students studying business, information technology, engineering, maritime and culinary programmes. Rizvi Education Society is a highly reputed and recognised education provider with experienced faculty and state of the art infrastructure based out of Mumbai. Both the institutions share similar values and approach towards global education, with more than 100 years of collective experience of imparting quality education.

The agreement allows the students to study the first three semesters of their Bachelor Degree in India. On completion of this, the students will transition to MIT in New Zealand for their subsequent three semesters of study. The students graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Management from MIT. We have a similar arrangement for the students who come from the Faculty of Information Technology.

John Wadsworth, Dean, Faculty of Business and IT believes this opportunity to collaborate with a prestigious institution like Rizvi College, would provide a unique opportunity for the students to not only gain a qualification from New Zealand, but also to gain hands on, practical experience through internship/research project. This is a core part of MIT’s curriculum, giving students a huge advantage for future employability in New Zealand.”

Students will be guided in transition to MIT by Estero New Zealand the organisation who identified this opportunity and further engineered the project. The responsibility Estero New Zealand carries is immense as they act as a catalyst to ensure due diligence is followed to ensure students are guided well and prepared on their journey to New Zealand. They will have a base at the Rizvi Education Society campus in Mumbai. This is very important for the success of this arrangement as Estero New Zealand being on campus will be able to provide on-site guidance and support to the students.
