The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is about to commence the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for Bachelors of Architecture (BArch).

The JEE Main BArch Examination is for those candidates who aspire in the field of Architecture. It measures the aptitude of the applicant with regard to the specific field of architecture. The test measures a candidates drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability, which have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to the study of architecture.

The JEE (BArch) examination is scheduled to be conducted on April 4, 2015. However, students who were unable to register themselves for the exam can start enrolling for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).

NATA is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to the 5 year BArch Degree course at all recognized institutions across the country. Admission to all architecture colleges (including government and private deemed universities) in India is done on the basis of NATA score. 

Students from science/commerce stream with math can seek admission to the BArch course. However, there are no questions from Physics, Chemistry, or General Knowledge in the architecture entrance examinations of JEE (BArch) and NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).

Jamia Millia Islamia conducts its own entrance exam for admission in architecture. They ask questions from Physics, Chemistry, Math, English and General Knowledge. There are some state exams which follow this pattern for the architecture entrance.
