Admission Criteria of IIM Ahmedabad 2020-2020 - Accompanied by CAT notification, IIM Ahmedabad has released the PGP admission criteria for 2020-20 batch. As per the admission criteria published by IIM Ahmedabad, there will be three steps for the selection. It will include Preliminary Screening, Academic Writing Test & Personal Interview and Final Selection. Past academic records and work experience of candidates will also be considered.
The two-year Post-graduate Programme in Management (PGP) at IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a full-time residential course for graduates from all disciplines wishing to choose a career in management. This Programme was ranked at No.16th in the world by the Financial Times Masters in Management category.

IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria - Preliminary Screening
In CAT-2020 there will be three sections, i.e., ‘Quantitative Aptitude’ (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning’ (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension’ (VRC). Candidates who will score more than the following minimum cutoffs in the sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and obtain a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2020 will be considered for all the next stages.

According to IIM Ahmedabad admission procedure, ‘At different stages of the selection process ‘Application Rating’ (AR) score of an applicant will be used. An applicant’s AR score is the sum of the rating scores ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ (Tables 2-4) based on their percentage of marks obtained in the 10th standard, the 12th standard (depending upon the stream, viz., ‘Science’, ‘Commerce’ and ‘Arts & Humanities’) and the bachelor’s degree programme (depending upon the discipline) respectively. For different streams/disciplines, the equivalent ARs are arrived at by using a percentile equivalence of the score distributions using previous year’s CAT data.

As per IIM Ahmedabad admission criteria 2020 ‘Normalised AR score of an applicant is equal to their AR score divided by average of the top 50 AR scores from the applicants’ pool, (the applicants’ pool, in this case, being defined as the group of candidates who appear for CAT-2020 and apply to IIMA.)

NOTE- If the institution/university does not award the percentage of marks, it will be calculated on the basis of the marks obtained in all the subjects listed in the marks-sheet.
IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria - Shortlisting for Academic writing Test & Personal Interview
As per IIM Ahmedabad admission criteria, this process will be carried out in two stages. First, IIMA will select the exceptional performers from every disciple. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their previous academic records as well as their performance in CAT exam. A certain number of top candidates will be shortlisted for the AWT and PI rounds on the basis of their composite scores and subject to their fulfilling three criteria mentioned below:

Criteria C4-C6:
Criteria 4- PT ≥ 80, PQA ≥ 70, PDILR ≥ 70 and PVRC ≥ 70.
Criteria 5- P ≥ 80 (Science), 77 (Commerce), 75 (Arts/Humanities), where P is the average of the percentages of marks scored in the 10th and 12th std. examinations.
Criteria 6- (Percentage of marks in the graduation) ≥ Minimum cut-off percentage, to be set at the 80th percentile of the percentage of marks of the respective AC group of the applicants’ pool, (the applicants’ pool, in this case, being defined as the group of candidates who appear for CAT-2020, apply to IIM Ahmedabad and belong to the respective AC.)
Stage 2 (Category-wise selection): After removing the candidates selected in Stage 1 from each category (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD) the additional number of candidates to be shortlisted for AWT & PI will be selected on the basis of the composite score ‘CS’ (see above) subject to their fulfilling criteria C1-C2.
IIM Ahmedabad Admission Criteria 2020: Final Selection
At this stage, candidates will be selected on the basis of their ‘final composite score.’ The numbers chosen in different reservation categories will be in proportion as per the law.
The FCS (final composite score) will be calculated as follows:
FCS = 0.50 (normalised PI score) + o.10 (normalised AWT scores) + 0.40 (CS)
The normalised PI and AWT scores of candidates are their scores in the respective field divided by the average of the top 1 percent in the same field respectively.
