Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Pusa swept away 18 awards at the National Awards for Excellence 2012-2013 in Hospitality Education Ceremony held at Dr. Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi on February 6, 2015.
The event had Shri Mahesh Sharma, Hon’ble Union Tourism and Culture Minister, Government of India as the Guest of Honour and Shri Girish Shankar, Hon’ble Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Ms. Usha Sharma, Hon’ble Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Ten students of IHM,Pusa bagged the positions of All India Toppers.The awardees being:
- Mr. Ravish Siddiqui, 1st Position in M. Sc. (HA) 2011-13
- Ms. Sana Khan, 1st Position in B. Sc. (HHA) 2012-13
- Ms. Sanchari Guha, 1st Position in 2nd Year 2012-13
- Mr. Astik Oberoi, 2nd Position in 2nd Year 2012-13
- Mr. Deep Banka, 3rd Position in 2nd Year 2012-13
- Ms. Bhavna Sharma, 1st Position in 1st Year 2012-13
- Mr. Toshan Harjai, 2nd Position in 1st Year 2012-13
- Mr. Abhinav Sachdeva, 3rd Position in 1st Year 2012-13
- Ms. Sana Khan, 3rd Position in 3rd Year 2012-13
- Ms. Bikanshi Kalra, 1st Position in CCFP 2012-13
- Three Faculty members of IHM PUSA, were awarded as Best Teachers:
- Mr.Sudeep Bose, HOD
- Mr.Anil Goyal, Senior Lecturer
- Ms. Mamta Bist, Lecturer
The Institute won the the Best Insititute Award for All Round Performance for the 6th Time Consecutively. IHM Pusa, also pocketed the following awards in its kitty:
- The Best Institute for Academics
- The Best Institute for Placement (Special Award)
- The Best Institute for Operational Performance (Special Award)
- The Best Institute for Skill Certification (Special Award)
Mr. Mahesh Sharma encouraged all the student winners and called them the “ambassadors of Indian Culture” and emphasized on Hospitality Education stating that the strength of Indian Tourism relies heavily on it.
Team IHM Pusa were ecstatic to have been acknowledged and rewarded for all their efforts and hope to carry forward the legacy.
These awards aim at recognizing and awarding the best in the Hospitality Education and were given in four categories - individual students for excellence in academic performance, best teachers, best institute and special awards.
