1.) University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore University

The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering is one of the oldest technical institutes in the country offering BE, ME and MSc in Engineering. Affiliated to the Bangalore University, this Government Engineering Colleges in Bangalore offers full-time undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in various streams of engineering, including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Information Science and Engineering. Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process at UG Level

For taking admission to undergraduate courses, a student should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the 10+2 level. Also, the college admits students on the basis of Common Entrance Test, which is conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process at PG Level

Students who want to study a postgraduate course in this Government Engineering Colleges in Bangalore are required to perform well in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), which is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The School of Engineering at the Central University of Karnataka was established in 2013. This Government Engineering Colleges in Bangalore offers engineering courses in Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communications Engineering. Also, it offers five-year integrated engineering programs (B Tech + M Tech) in disciplines like Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Power and Energy Technology (PET), Computer Aided Design Manufacture and Automation (CADMA), Construction Technology (CT) and Computer Science and Technology (CST). Further, the college offers four-year PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

Students who have passed grade 12 examinations with 50 percent marks, and have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics besides other subjects will be eligible to apply for engineering courses at the university. The Government Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technological Institute was founded in 1938. In its early years, the institute used to only offer B Tech in Silk Technology and Textile Technology. The college is the only university providing engineering in textile. Apart from the regular, full-time engineering courses, it also offers part-time programs.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

Students who desire to take admission to this engineering college should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognised by the university with not less than 45 percent marks in aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology and Electronics.

This Government Engineering Colleges in Bangalore also allows lateral entry to B Tech courses in a 2nd year/3rd semester. Those who want to take admission in part-time courses need to have at least one-year experience in the related field.

Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

Furthermore, the students are admitted to the postgraduate courses on the basis of scores on competitive exams such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST). Candidates who are selected on the basis of their scores in competitive exams are required to appear for group discussion and later for the interview.
