Eligibility and Admission Criteria:

Government College of Engineering:

For undergraduate programmes –

o The candidate should have passed class 12 exams of the Maharashtra State, Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent exam, with at least 50% marks

o The candidate should have done the 12th class with physics, chemistry/biotechnology, English, mathematics, and any other subject.

o The candidate should have a valid score of MHT-CET entrance exam.

o GCEA is one of those government engineering colleges in Aurangabad that admit meritorious students through personal interview and group discussion.

For postgraduate programmes –

o The candidate should have a B.E. / B. Tech degree or an equivalent qualification from any of the universities that are incorporated by an act of state or central legislature in India.

o The candidate should possess a valid GATE score.

For doctoral programmes –

o The candidate applying based on their research work leading to an M.E. / M. Tech degree in a relevant discipline should possess a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade points of a recognised university or institute.

o The candidate should also have passed their Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade points.
University Department of Chemical Technology: This department is part of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, which is one of the popular government engineering colleges in Aurangabad. While the department has limited engineering courses to offer, check the specific eligibility and admission conditions below.

For undergraduate programmes –

o The candidate should have passed the 10+2 exam with PCM subjects.
o The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 exam.
o The candidate should have a valid score of MHT-CET entrance exam.

For postgraduate programmes –
 

o The candidate should have a B. Tech (Chem.) Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemicals Technology degree, or a B. Pharma degree, or a B.Sc. Tech. (pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals technology) degree of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) or any other recognised university.

o The sponsored candidates should also have a full-time industrial experience of a minimum of 2 years, along with a minimum of 60% marks in a relevant degree as mentioned in the above requirement.

o The admission will take place through UDCT-PG-CET exam that is scheduled during the month of July every year by BAMU. This exam is specific to the concerned university and is not a criterion adopted by other government engineering colleges in Aurangabad.


National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology:

For undergraduate programmes –

o The candidate should have passed or should be appearing in class 12 exams from a recognised board with maths and physics as compulsory subjects and chemistry/biology/biotechnology as technical vocational subjects. The same subject criterion is not followed in other listed government engineering colleges in Aurangabad.

o The candidate should have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the mentioned subjects. The requirement is relaxed by 5% marks for SC/ST candidates. Appearing candidates should fulfil all the eligibility conditions at the time of admission.

o The candidate should have a valid score/rank obtained in JEE Main exam.

For diploma programme –

o The candidate should have passed the class 10th exam from a recognised board, with a minimum aggregate score of 35% in science and maths subjects.

For postgraduate programmes –

o The candidate should have a B.E./B. Tech degree or an equivalent degree (in electronics/instrumentation/electrical/telecommunication engineering) from a recognised university, with a minimum of 55% marks. The requirement is relaxed by 5% marks for SC/ST candidates.

o The candidate should have a valid GATE score. However, if sufficient candidates with GATE scores are not available, then the selection of candidates is also done on the basis of their Bachelor’s degree marks.

o Unlike other government engineering colleges in Aurangabad, NIELIT considers all types of candidates, including GATE, Non-GATE, and sponsored. While the GATE candidates are chosen on the basis of their GATE scores and performance in the interview, the non-GATE and sponsored candidates are chosen on the basis of their Bachelor’s degree marks and performance in the interview.
o The sponsored candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of service in an industry, academic institute, or research organisation that is involved in electronic product/system development.

For doctoral programmes –
