GCET 2015 to be held on May 5, 2015

GCET is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa.The Directorate is also entrusted by the Govt. of Goa for carrying out the admission procedure for the benefit of the students of the State and in accordance with rules and regulations of AICTE and Councils for respective professions (Medical, Dental, Homoeopathic Architecture & Pharmacy, etc). In order to save time and energy of the candidates seeking admissions, the Directorate arranges for common prospectus and centralized admission for all professional Degree & Diploma level programmes in the State separately. It includes Degree and Diploma programmes.

 

Schedule for GCET 2015:

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa has announced the notification about the date of examination for the admission to the MBBS, BDS and BHMS, BE/B.Tech, B.Pharm and B.Arch courses as per the following schedule:

Eligibility:

The candidates must be completed the age of 17 years as on or before 31st December 2014 for Medical courses. For engineering, pharmacy and architecture courses, the age limits are not required.

For medical courses, the candidates must be passed HSC or 12th of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination or its equal with English and secured least 50% marks (40% for reserving class and 45% for PH candidates) in Physics, chemistry and biology.

For engineering courses, the candidates must be passed HSC or 12th of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination or its equal with English, physics and mathematics as compulsory and secured least 45% marks (40% for reserving class) in total of Physics, mathematics and optional subject (chemistry, biotechnology, computer science or biology).

For Pharmacy courses, the candidates must be passed HSC or 12th of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination or its equal with English, physics and chemistry as compulsory and secured least 45% marks (40% for reserving class) in total of Physics, chemistry and optional subject (mathematics, biotechnology, computer science or biology).

For admission to the B.Arch, the candidates must have passed the NATA with valid scores. The candidates must be passed HSC or 12th of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination or its equal.

Exam Pattern:

The exam will consist of four papers as physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology. Each paper will be of 2 hours duration with 75 multiple type questions about that subject only. Each correct answer will be awarded with one mark. For incorrect answer, no mark will be awarded. There will no negative marking in this examination. The examination will be in English language only. The questions will be composed from the 11th & 12th syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Selection Process:

The selection will be made through the counselling process. The candidates will be ranked as per their individual score in GCET 2015 and called for counselling. After the successful processing of counselling, the candidates will be allotted the institutions and seat as per their ranks. They key is to know what you aspire. Students will be required to study mock tests and go through every topic thoroughly!
