What can rightly be deemed as landmark collaboration, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and Pearl Academy collaborated on Sunday, April 15 2020, to offer the best fashion programme in India.

As per a statement, the announcement of the collaboration was made during ‘Portfolio 2020’ – Pearl Academy’s annual graduating event – and in the presence of ace designers like David Abraham, Manish Malhotra, Rahul Mishra and Rohit Gandhi to mention a few.

Whereas FDCI is the epic body of fashion design in India with over 400 members including Valaya, Namrata Joshipura, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, Manish Arora and J.J. Anju Modi to name popular a few, Pearl Academy leads as a design institute with a legacy of two decades and has its centres located in Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi. Two giants of the industry have come together with the intent to nurture and develop the dynamic designers of tomorrow.

As per the move, FDCI will conduct master classes at Pearl Academy, wherein faculty members will be made familiar with the latest techniques and trends of the industry. In addition to this, FDCI will also host regular events at the campus of Pearl Academy wherein the fashion editors, trend forecasters and design members will mentor the students. This one-of-a-kind initiative from fashion industry aims at shaping the future designers

"This is a momentous juncture, as for the first time the entire Fashion Design Council is undertaking such a deep engagement with an institution. We are very proud to be associated with Pearl Academy.

"I find them to be forward-looking, innovative and leaders in design education. Their student work has been outstanding and I am confident that it will be further enhanced with this association. It is an opportunity for FDCI to shape the industry for tomorrow and this alliance is a first step in that direction," said FDCI president Sunil Sethi, who has always shown deep interest in fashion education, according to the statement.

Pearl Academy CEO Sharad Mehra added: "We have been associated with FDCI for multiple events but this association is a historic one and will change the face of fashion education. We welcome all the leading designers from FDCI to be a part of Pearl Academy and help mentor Pearlites to be future ready."
