Students who aim to take admission in some of the prestigious colleges under Delhi University (DU) will surely be happy to know that they will be able to fill forms for more courses and fight for more seats this year. The reason being, some of the colleges under DU are to start offering new courses this year onward. This will open up to 500 more seats for the potential candidates.

As of now, 63 colleges of DU offer around 54,000 seats and adding more courses from this year onward will add approximately 500 more seats to the present tally. However, the fact worth mentioning here is that these are not new courses altogether but already on offer in some of the DU colleges. It is just that more colleges will start offering them from this year on.

DU Colleges will start offering these courses as soon as they get an approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC). The noticeable contribution will come from colleges like Bhim Rao Ambedkar College that will start offering History (Hons) adding 40 more seats to the present count of 872. Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College is to start BMS (46 seats), B.Sc Hons in computer science (46 seats) and forensic science (30 seats).
