DU Admissions 2015: Second Cut-Off List May See a Dip of 0.25 - 1%

Students who failed to clear the sky-high cutoffs in the first round will have another chance when the Delhi University colleges will announce their second-cut-off list tonight, 29th June, 2015.

The second cut-off list is likely to see a dip of 0.25 – 1 % giving students another shot at getting admission in the college of their dreams.

The cut-offs are likely to see a greater dip for social science and humanities courses.

Kirori Mal College (KMC) and Deshbandhu College have already announced their second cut-offs and their lists indicated the same.

At KMC, history (hons) has come down to 94.75% from 95.5% and political science (hons) has come down from 98% to 97%.

At Deshbandhu College, while the admissions to B.Com (hons) and economics (hons) courses have already been closed, history (hons) and political science (hons) are now available at 86% and 87%, respectively.

The Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) has, meanwhile, closed B.Com (hons) admissions but it will declare a second list for economics (hons). The first cut-off for economics (hons) at SRCC was 98.75%.

“There will be a second cut-off list for economics (hons) with a dip of 0.25-0.50%. But there is no second list for commerce as seats are already full. In fact, we have given admission to more number of students than seats available,” said Ashok Sehgal, officiating principal, SRCC.

Ramjas College too closed admission to several courses. Of the 1,300 seats available across courses, around 745 have been filled.

“Seats are full in zoology, botany, life sciences, English and political science. For the rest, we will have a second list,” said principal Rajendra Prasad who hinted at a dip of 0.50-1%.

Lady Shri Ram College (LSR), which had announced the highest cut-offs for economics (hons) and English (hons) at 98% and 98.25%, respectively is likely to announce a second list.
