BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU

The University of Delhi (DU) is one of the top universities in India having a plethora of courses and programmes in various streams and departments. It is one of the largest universities in India.

Delhi University has invited application to various courses/programmes for UG candidates for the academic year  2020-18. All candidates seeking admission to the UG programmes must apply online as the admission process is completely based on the entrance examination conducted by the Delhi University.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates who have qualified 10+2 (12th examination) or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to apply.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Registration Fee:

For SC/ST/PWD Candidates: INR 50 for each course
For all other categories (Unreserved, OBC etc): INR 100  for each course

Note:

*Registration fee is not refundable
*Fee has to be paid during online registration process.
*If applying for more than one course, the candidate has to pay a separate registration fee for each programme/course.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Registration Process:

  • All candidates should register online in order to appear for the entrance examination
  • Visit 'www.du.ac.in' and click on the “Register Here” button under the “New User?” option on the website. The process of registration will begin.
  • Enter a valid email ID and the password of a maximum of 6 characters (It is not mandatory that you have to give your mail ID’s password. You can give a password of your choice as well)
  • Next, enter a valid mobile phone number (10 digit number without any prefix)
  • Fill your details (given in the certificates) in the respective columns to complete the registration procedure.
  • Before submitting, verify all the details in order to remove complications during the process of admission. No changes or modifications can be done after the submission of application form.
  • After successfully completing this procedure, a verification email will be sent to the given email ID with a confirmation link.  The candidate has to click to confirm the registration.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Login Details:

  • Visit ' www.du.ac.in' and log in with the registered email ID and password to continue filling the application form. The same ID and password should be used every time you log in.
  • Fill up the postal address details
  • Once all the above-mentioned files are uploaded, the candidate can Proceed and ‘Submit’ the form.
  •  After successfully submitting the form, a preview of the application including the details furnished by the candidate will be shown.  Candidates can check for discrepancies, if any, and submit the profile.
  • Next, the candidate should select and apply for their desired courses by clicking the  ‘Apply in New Course’ button on the form.
  • Choose the course from the options that you want to pursue.
  • Choose the preferable city where you want to appear for the entrance examination from the list.
  • Enter details of educational qualification.
  • Click ‘Save Application’ and proceed to check the details on the application form.
  • Now, three options will appear at the bottom of the page i.e. 'Click to Modify Application', 'Pay Fee' & 'My Home'.
  • After providing all the details, the candidate can proceed to pay the fee for the entrance examination. You can choose any one of the payment gateways to make the payment.

Note:

*Registration and submission of the form will be valid only after the payment.

* In order to apply for more than one course, a candidate has to fill separate forms and pay registration fees for each course with the same login ID and password.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Documents needed for uploading:

  • Passport size Photograph of the applicant (maximum size:50kb, Formats: JPG/JPEG/PNG)
  • Scanned Signature of the applicant (maximum size: 50kb, Formats: JPG/JPEG/PNG)
  • Self-attested copy of Identity Proof of the applicant (maximum size: 50kb, Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG). It can be any one of the following documents: Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Voter’s Identity Card, Passport,  College Identity Card.
  • Self attested copy of Class 10th Certificate (maximum size: 100 kb, Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG/ PDF).
  • Self-attested copy of Caste Certificate, if applicable (maximum size: 100 kb, Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG/ PDF).

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Examination Centres:

The 2020-18 Entrance examination for BA (Hons) of Delhi University will be conducted in the following centres across the country.

  • Bengaluru
  • Delhi
  • Jammu
  • Kolkata
  • Nagpur
  • Varanasi

*Chosen city can’t be changed after the submission of application form.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Availability of  Admit Card:

The Admit card for the DU entrance examination will be available in your registered account. Candidates can download the Admit Card in the first week of June 2020. The printout quality of the admit card should be fair enough for the verification purpose. Admit card carries the details on the name of the candidate, date of birth, the signature of the candidate, examination date, centre, reporting time etc.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Things to carry inside the exam hall:

  • The candidate should carry a printed copy of admit card
  • One Identity Card bearing the candidate’s photograph, for verification. This can be any one of the following documents: Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter’s identity card, Passport or College identity card

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Exam Pattern:

  • The exam will be of 2 hours
  • The question paper will be in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) format
  • Answers have to be marked on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet

*Answer keys will be published on  Delhi University’s site within 24 hours from the conclusion of the entrance exams.

BA (Hons) Entrance Examination of DU Admission Process:

All admissions will be based on the candidate’s score in the entrance examination.

For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Business Economics, qualified candidates have to go through Group Discussion/Personal Interview (PI) or both, as per the number of candidates.

The category certificate (OBC non-creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD/CW), in the name of the candidate, must be produced on the day of the interview and group discussion.

The weight age of the entrance examination, interview and group discussion (GD) is as follows:-

  • 85% for the Entrance test
  • 15% for the GD and Interview
