Aaghaz-2015: Annual fest of PGDAV College

Campuswalkin Expert updated on : 23 Feb, 2020 18

Coming up with a good theme PGDAV College, New Delhi presents its annual fest from February 11-12, 2014.

This year theme of Aaghaz-2015 the annual event of PGDAV College, is dedicated to incredible Northeast of India.

The Northeast region of India comprising of eight states – Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim- a region poorly connected to the Indian mainland by a small corridor, and surrounded by many countries such as Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh and China, is the setting for a multitude of conflict that undermines the idea of India as a prosperous and functioning democracy.

Though northeast is an integral part of India but in real sense this part is being ignored from mainstream India. The recent racial activities against the northeaster people are the example. Every year, thousands of students from north-east India come to the ‘developed states’ seeking higher education and better employment opportunities.

Event list is here:

A relative low growth and a weak educational system in North-East have forced many students from this belt to migrate to the metros. Their dreams are consistent with that of a conventional student – job prospects and speedy growth in future. But neither are they safe nor treated equally by the locals and in the end somehow have to face racial discrimination.

Day after day, year after year, when helpless students of the northeast are meted out worse behaviour by residents of the city, no one speaks out.

So if you are from the Generation Y, and believe in equality for all, irrespective of where you come from, what your colour or religious belief is, take a pledge to believe & practice equality for all in all spheres of life. Imagine the world you will live in, if everyone looks upon the other with respect & kindness.

During this fest college students will depict the inherent beauties of Northeast, their culture with amazing performances of professional artists.

Be a part of this extravaganza. Feel the ultimate thrill of unity.
