5 Simple Steps to Prepare for Delhi University Admissions 2020

Once the board results for this year are out, the next most-anticipated thing – the Delhi University admissions will begin.

The Delhi University admission procedure can be quite hectic, given the amount of formalities one has to fulfil and the running around one has to do in order to get and submit his/her Delhi University application form.

However, we can make your life a bit easier by preparing you for all the necessary tasks beforehand so you can arrive at the campus confidently to begin your Delhi University admission procedure.

As soon as the Delhi University cut off list is released, apply some of the following things:

1. Remember Delhi University Registration Dates

You must have a calendar of all the important dates in order to stay alert for Delhi University admissions. It is important that you make a note of online as well as offline dates for purchasing and submitting the applications. Students will get three days to complete the admission formalities after the announcement of every cut-off list. The gap between declaration of successive cut-off lists also helps the colleges send data of the seats filled to the University and upload it on the website. You must also have a list of all the centres where you can procure and submit your optical registration (OMR) forms.

2. Calculate your Best of 4 Subjects percentage

You can calculate your Best of Four Subjects or BFS percentage by adding:

  • one language (elective/core/functional),
  • subject in which admission is sought (if you are switching streams and haven’t studied that subject in senior secondary, 2.5% of your BFS will be deducted),
  • any two other academic/elective subjects

3. Checklist of documents required when you go for Delhi University Admissions

You must carry the following documents in original along with two sets of self-attested photocopies and go to the specific college where he/she qualifies under the cut-off. And those who do not qualify in the current cut-off list must wait till the next cut-off list is announced.

  • Class 10 board exam certificate
  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Class 12 original certificate/ provisional certificate
  • Character certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority
  • OBC (non-creamy layer) certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority
  • Transfer certificate from school/college as well as Migration certificate from Board/University if you have passed senior secondary exam from outside Delhi.
  • At least two passport size self-attested photographs.
