Asit Modi, producer of “Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chasmah”, one of the speakers at the “3rd National Innovation Summit”, an annual event organized by “Aditya Institute of Management Studies and Research”, bared the secret of his success and termed innovation as the key that helped his comedy show become a runaway success in the history of Indian television.

Mr. Modi regaled the students of various management schools and dignitaries by giving insights of the entertainment world and mentioned a dire need of the industry for innovation.

“Fostering innovation in Organisations at Multi-disciplinary Level” was the theme of this year’s Innovation Summit hosted by “Aditya Institute of Management Studies and Research”. The summit witnessed various luminaries from the Academia and Corporate world who presented their views on the assigned theme.

The summit started at 9.30 am with lighting of the auspicious lamp by Shri Harishchandra Mishra, Founder trustee - AIMSR, Dr.Swati Lodha, Director – AIMSR, Mr. Ramesh Iyer, M.D. Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd. and Dr. Andres Artal – Tur, Professor – Technical University of Cartagena, Spain.

Mr. Ramesh Iyer, the keynote speaker of the summit expressed his views about innovation, its effects at a multidisciplinary level in the organization and how students need to be prepared to tackle the challenges of being innovative at the workplace.

Dr. Andres Artal – Tur, Professor at The Technical University of Cartagena, Spain, was a special invitee to speak on the challenges of the global entrepreneur and the need to be innovative to compete in the international space. Dr. Andres Artal – Tur provided apt information about the Entrepreneur Incubator Cells at the universities in Spain and how young entrepreneurs are guided to innovate and generate value for their business including being socially responsible.

Dr. Uma Shashikant, Founder and MD, Centre for Investment Education and Learning and Ms. Deepti Bhatnagar, Retired Professor of Organisation Behaviour, IIM Ahmedabad, spoke about the need of innovation and fiduciary responsibility of the investment advisor and stages of imbuing culture of innovation within organisations with case studies of 3M & Google respectively.

Post lunch sessions included the inspiring journey of Mr. Jay Dhariwal, Doctoral scholar (Renewable Energy), IIT Bombay as he explained his vision of sustainable, low cost, environment friendly habitat and a high powered, energetic presentation by Mr. Mridang Lodha, Founder of Fayaa.in, and his online ecommerce venture at a young age of 23 years. Mr. Lodha recently raised Rs. 60 lakhs from a venture fund to realise his entrepreneurial dream.

Dr. C.P. Shrimali, Director, MDI, Gurgaon, helped the students to understand the importance of aligning innovation in the organization to employee engagement and the stages at which innovation could work best.

The last speaker of the summit, Dr. Radha Iyer, Head - Entrepreneurial cell, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research encouraged the students to take the entrepreneurial route and answered their questions on competencies of the entrepreneur in the new age.

The summit concluded with a vote of thanks to all the speakers.
