After a lot of confusion last year, it has finally been decided that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the 1st “National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test" (NEET) for admission to the under graduate medical courses while the National Board of Examination will conduct the post graduate exams.

NEET will be rolled out from 2013-14.

Further to this, the Union health ministry has informed the state governments that under the proposed scheme, their existing reservation policies would not be disturbed and state-wise eligibility merit lists will be prepared for each state keeping in mind the admission criteria of the institutes in every state.
