MICAT Selection Procedure 2020

MICAT Selection Procedure 2020 – The selection procedure of MICAT 2020 will be held after the conduct of MICAT 1 and MICAT 2 exam. Candidates who will clear the MICAT cutoff will be eligible to appear for MICAT selection procedure 2020. Candidates who are going to appear for MICAT 2020 exam this year must check the selection process of MICAT exam. FOR MICAT aspirants, it is compulsory to take GMAT/CAT/XAT exam. As mentioned above, MICAT is conducted twice a year; candidates have the choice to appear either in both or one of them.

MICAT Selection procedure 2020

Selection procedure will include the shortlisting of the students for the admission to the courses offered by MICA. Candidates will have to go through several stages. As per the MICAT selection procedure, there are three stages which will include appearing in CAT/XAT/GMAT exam, MICAT entrance test and further selection procedures.

MICAT Selection procedure 2020 – Important Dates

Candidates appearing for MICAT 2020 must keep the track of the whole schedule so that they don’t miss any major event. Important dates of MICAT selection procedure are mentioned below in the table. However, official notification is not yet out, we are providing you the tentative schedule of MICAT 2020 selection process.

MICAT Selection Procedure 2020 – Three Stages

MICAT 2020 selection procedure will be comprised of three stages, which have been mentioned below –

First Stage​

In the first stage, candidates will be required to take CAT/XAT/GMAT exam. They will have to submit a valid score of CAT 2020/XAT 2020 or GMAT 2020. If they fail to do so, they will be disqualified at the first stage and will not be eligible to appear for the further MICAT selection process. So, it is very important that they hold a valid score of these entrance exams.

Second Stage​

In the second stage, candidates will be required to appear for MICAT 2020 exam. The exam will be divided into three sections

  • Psychometric test
  • Verbal Ability (VA), Quantitative Ability (QA), General Awareness (GA), Divergent-Convergent reasoning (DCR)
  • Descriptive test

The psychometric test will act as a qualifier test. Candidates must pass this test; otherwise, they will be evaluated on the other two parts. Each of the section will carry 25-30 questions. Part three will have 4 descriptive questions which are designed to evaluate the creativity and writing skills of the candidates. The total duration of the test will be 165 minutes. There will not be any negative marking in part 1 and part 3. However, in part 2, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong attempt. MICAT exam will be conducted in computer based mode. Around 140 questions will be asked in the test.

Third Stage​

In the third stage of MICAT selection procedure 2020, candidates will be called for the last round. It will include Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview Rounds (PI). Overall personality, thought process, knowledge and determination of the candidate will be assessed. Scores of MICAT 2019 will also be considered in this round.

Once all the above-mentioned three stages will be complete, MICA will publish the final merit list. This list will contain the names of the candidates who will be offered the admission in PGDM-C programme.

MICAT Selection Procedure – Final Merit List

While preparing the final merit list, various facts will be taken into consideration such as the number of applicants, seats offered at MICA, difficulty level of the test, category of the candidate etc. Specific weightage has been assigned to the factors included in MICAT selection procedure. Candidates can check the weightage given to each component in the table given below:
