Important:Change in Dates & Eligibility Criteria of CWE(Common Written Exam) for Bank P.O Jobs

Nishatha Abraham updated on : 03 Mar, 2014 0

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is going to conduct the 1st ever Common Written Exam (CWE) for 19 Public Sector Banks. This will hopefully simplify the bank recruitment procedures in all the public sector banks (PSBs) in India. The CWE will act as a qualifying exam for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts in these banks.

IBPS will declare the results of the CWE and give a scorecard that will be valid for up to 1.5 years. Once the validity period of the scorecard expires, the candidate will have to reappear for the exam. Once a candidate passes the common entrance exam, all that he or she has to do is to respond to an individual bank's advertisement and appear for its interview. Compared to the different banks’ admission procedure, this process of applying through the CWE will take only 1/3rd the time and will also be a relief to all the candidates who have to keep tab of at least half a dozen bank exam dates. The SBI group has its own recruitment process and will continue with it.

The 19 banks that will be accepting the CWE score card are:

  • Allahabad Bank
  • Andhra Bank
  • Bank of Baroda
  • Bank of India
  • Bank of Maharashtra
  • Canara Bank
  • Central Bank of India
  • Corporation Bank
  • Dena Bank
  • Indian Bank
  • Indian Overseas Bank
  • Oriental Bank of Commerce
