A Complete Guide to Delhi University (DU) M.Ed Admission 2020

Education, commonly known as M.Ed, is a two-year full-time course for the advanced study of Education. The Delhi University has released the application forms and the entrance test will be conducted in June for the eligible candidates.

The Delhi University M.Ed programme has been divided into five components, including Research Methods, Specialisation Courses, Perspective Courses, Seminars and Projects, and Dissertation. The aspiring candidates can enrol themselves for the course by filling the Delhi University M.Ed Admission form. The form will be made available on the Delhi University official website beginning May 31.

Delhi University M.Ed Application Form

Candidates need to check the eligibility criteria before filling in the application form for Delhi University M.Ed Admission. The complete details and instructions on how to fill the application form will be given in the prospectus that can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates are recommended to fill the application forms carefully, as incorrect forms will be rejected by the University. Another thing that must be noted by the candidates is that during the full-time M.Ed. course, the candidate will not be allowed to take up any employment or study for any other examination.

Delhi University M.Ed Admission Eligibility Criteria

Given below are the eligibility criteria for candidates applying for Delhi University M.Ed Admission entrance test:

  1. Candidates applying for Delhi University M.Ed Admission test must have completed their graduation/B.Ed/post graduation in any discipline from any recognised university with minimum qualifying marks.
  2. Candidates who want to appear for the entrance test must have secured a minimum of 50-percent marks in B.Ed/B.A/B.EI.Ed and D.EI.Ed in the undergraduate degree. Students of foreign nationals are also eligible for the admission. However, they are exempted from the entrance test.
  3. SC / ST - 22.5% seats of the total are reserved for this category. Moreover, 5-percent relaxation in minimum eligibility criteria is also given to this category. Furthermore, the Delhi University also gives OBC and PwD students reservations according to the set guidelines for them.
  4. Selection process: Delhi University selects candidates to provide admission in M.Ed through conducting entrance test. Candidates will be called for the counselling based on their marks scored in the entrance test.
  5. Direct entry - The application forms have been released in the month of March and April and students aspiring for entry in the course are required to fill the form before the last date. The college or university will then release the cut-off marks and after the validation, students can approach colleges or universities for admission.

Delhi University M.Ed Admission Process

Following are the simple steps that you need to follow to fill up the form for Delhi University M.Ed. Admission.

1.        Log on to official website of DU at www.du.ac.in

2.        Find the link ‘M.Ed Entrance test Application 2020’

3.        Click on M.Ed apply online

4.        Fill the application as per the instructions correctly

5.        Upload a scanned photograph and signature and other relevant documents (if required)

6.        Make the payment of the application fee through net banking/credit card etc.

         7.        Finally, click on the submit button and download the filled form

         8.        Take a printout of the form for further reference

Delhi University M.Ed Admission Fee

The application fee for Delhi University M.Ed Admission form is given below:

  1. General/OBC category candidates have to pay application fee of INR 500/-
  2. SC/ST/PWD candidates have to pay INR 250/- as application fee

Delhi University Admit Card

Once your Delhi University M.Ed. Admission form has been assigned eligible by the authorities, you will be provided with the admit card on its official website. You will also be informed on your Email ID about the admit card. Candidates should visit the official website of DU to download their admit cards and are required to carry the same on the exam day along with a photo ID proof.

Delhi University Result

DU M.Ed entrance test result 2020 will be announced by DU on its official website after successful completion of the exam. DU will declare the result most probably in the month of June/July 2020. Hence, candidates must log on to the official website on a regular basis for regular updates.

Candidates who qualify the exam with merit marks will be called for counselling and interview. For counselling, the candidates need to bring the following documents.

  1. Admit card
  2. DD of admission fee
  3. Rank Card
  4. Original certificate of class 10th/class 12th/graduation and their photocopies
  5. Medical fitness certificate

Delhi University M.Ed Syllabus

Although, there is no pre-determined or set syllabus for Delhi University M.Ed Admission entrance test, but candidates who desire to appear for the entrance examination must thoroughly prepare the curriculum studied by them in the qualifying examination i.e. at the undergraduate level. They must also have the knowledge of educational theory, research aptitude and analytical and reflective skills related to the contemporary Indian education discourse.

Syllabus of the entrance test includes following topics:

  • Logical Reasoning
  • General Knowledge
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Skills
  • Computer Knowledge

Interview 

In order to prepare for the interview, candidates need to have an in-depth understanding of the educational theory, research aptitude and the revision of the undergraduate curriculum. The interview will also be conducted to test the candidate’s expression and communication skills. Therefore, one needs to be confident, fluent in English and up-to-date with the current affairs. Along with this, the aspirant should be well dressed and neatly groomed. Your appearance also leaves a lasting impression on the interviewer who is looking to see how you will fair through the M.Ed course when you are awarded the admission.

Delhi University M.Ed Admission Cut-off

The Delhi University M.Ed Admission Cut-off marks will be calculated category wise. Hence, each category has different cut-off marks. From the previous year’s cut-off marks, one can estimate their marks for reference. The DU officials have not released 2020 cut-offs as of now. We will update the DU cut-offs 2020 as soon as the university will release the same.
