IBPS SO 2020 is an all India level recruitment examination, conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) every year, to select students as Scale I Specialist Officer (SO) at various participating public sector banks.

IBPS SO exam for the year 2020 is going to be held on January 28, 2020 and January 29, 2020. The exam registration is now closed. The exam results are expected to be declared in the month of February 2020.
The exam will be conducted in two stages consisting of a written test and the personal interview. All candidates will have to answer 200 multiple choice questions within 2 hours period.

IBPS SO 2020 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for IBPS SO 2020, candidates should be aged between 20 & 30 years of age and should be an Indian citizen. Citizens of some other countries can also apply after providing an Eligibility Certificate. Age relaxation will be provided for candidates belonging to certain reserved categories. Moreover, all candidates applying for the exam should be a graduate or equivalent from any recognised university or institution. Candidates should have also studied the subject specialisation for the post they are applying for.
IBPS SO 2020 Application Procedure
The registrations-cum-sale of application forms for IBPS SO exam will commence on November 23, 2020. Aspiring candidates will have to get themselves registered for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP) carried out by IBPS on its official website. They will have to then fill-in the online application forms available on the website by entering the desired information. As part of the application form, all candidates will be required to upload a scanned copy of their signature and photograph.
The registrations and the sale of application forms will conclude on December 10, 2020. Any form submitted after this deadline will be rejected right away.
IBPS SO 2020 Application Fee
The application process also carries an application fee, which needs to be paid, in order to submit the application forms. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/PWD category will have to pay an application fee of INR 100 while candidates applying through any other categories will have to pay an application fee of INR 600.
The application fee payment can be made online by use of Net Banking, Debit cards, Credit cards, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets and IMPS. Candidates will receive an e-receipt on successful payment of application fee.
IBPS SO 2020 Exam Pattern
IBPS SO 2020 examination will be conducted online, wherein applicant will be required to answer 200 multiple-type questions within 2 hours. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer. No negative marking at all.
The IBPS SO question papers will be in two different sets. The first set will be given to candidates appearing for the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari & Law Officer while the second set will be given to the candidates applying for rest of the posts. However, both the sets will be divided into four different sections including English Language, Professional Knowledge, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude/ General Awareness.
IBPS SO 2020 Syllabus
The syllabus of IBPS SO 2020 will cover different topics under four different sections of question paper with the fourth section varying according to the post. Under the English language section, candidates will be asked questions on Grammar, Vocabulary, Unseen Passage, etc. The reasoning section will have questions on Analytical Reasoning, Statement & Conclusion, Coding & Decoding, etc. Topics like Probability, Permutation & Combination, Calculus, etc. will be covered under Quantitative Aptitude section. Questions testing the candidate’s general awareness and knowledge relating to banking sector will be asked under the General Awareness section. Candidates appearing for the post of IT Officer will be asked questions on Database Management System, Programming Language, Computer Design, Software Engineering, etc.
IBPS SO 2020 Admit Cards
The admit cards for IBPS SO 2020 are now released on the official website. Candidates appearing for the exam can download their admit cards from the IBPS’s official website by entering the details asked. They are advised to download their admit card and carry it along to the examination venue on the day of the exam. The information on exam date, venue and time will be given on the candidate’s admit card along with their name and roll number. Applicants who fail to bring their admit card to the exam venue will be denied permission to appear for the exam.
IBPS SO 2020 Results
IBPS is expected to announce the results for IBPS SO 2020 in the month of February 2020. All those candidates who appeared for the IBPS SO exam will be able to check their results by logging onto the official web portal of IBPS after they enter the desired information in the column specified.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before the final selection is made. The call letters will be released in the month of March 2020 for the interviews, which are also expected to be conducted in the same month.
Provisional recruitment for different posts will be made in the month of April 2020, after all the interviews have been completed.
