Common Management Admission Test or CMAT in short is conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). There are various CMAT exam centre across the country where this exam is conducted for admission to several management programs. On the basis of CMAT score, candidates can get admission in to colleges/institutes affiliated to AICTE. CMAT is a computer based online exam which is expected to be conducted in January 2020. AICTE is yet to announce the official dates of CMAT exam 2020. However, AICTE doesn’t publish any official CMAT syllabus for the candidates, but on the basis of previous years’ CMAT question papers, we can have an idea of exam pattern of CMAT 2020.

CMAT is a computer based test which has a time limit of three hours. This exam is taken by around 80,000 students all over the country. AICTE CMAT is among the major and most famous MBA entrance examination in the country. Language Comprehension

The verbal ability section in AICTE CMAT 2020 is known as language comprehension. This section is comprised of comprehension English test including grammar, vocabulary, tenses, reading comprehension and jumbled paragraph. Questions can be asked from the topics such as articles, dangling modifiers, nouns, pronouns, non – finites, verbs, subject verb agreement, prepositions etc. The passages in this section will not be longer than an average of 500 to 600 words. Questions based on the passages can be of several types such as questions based on central idea of the passage, question based on idioms, phrases, expression, inference drawn etc.

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation

Questions asked in this section aren’t based on sets and are usually single question. Questions which are based on data interpretation, pie chart and table etc. will need simple calculations. However there are other topics which are usually asked in in this section are arithmetic which includes ratio, profit & loss, work, basic statistics, probability, number properties, few questions from derivatives and geometry etc.

Logical Reasoning

This section contains several topics which include seating, arranging, sequencing linear arrangement etc. Few other topics covered in this section are logical puzzle, numerical puzzle, Venn diagram, visual reasoning, true or false statement, statement – conclusion etc. These questions are tricky and can be solved with basic logical instincts.

General Awareness

GA section is comprised of three parts. Every part of this section has due weightage. The first part is conventional general knowledge which can be read from the books. Second part is current general knowledge. This part can be prepared by reading periodicals, magazines and newspapers every day. The third is business and economic general knowledge. This include monetary policies, cash reserve ratio, up – valuation and devaluation of rupee, current repo rate etc. This section can be prepared in few days. It needs regular preparation every day.
