CLAT 2020 Syllabus

CLAT Syllabus 2020 - Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level law entrance exam that is conducted on a rotational basis by the 17 National Law Universities (NLUs).

The Common Law Aptitude Test (CLAT) is conducted for selecting candidates for undergraduate and postgraduate law courses offered by 17 participating law universities. CLAT 2020 will be conducted on May 14, 2020.

CLAT 2020 Syllabus:        

There will be different sets of paper for undergraduate and post graduate exams.

For undergraduate programmes:

  • The exam paper is divided into five sections having a total of 200 questions.
  • Students will be tested on their English based on comprehension passages and grammar.
  • General knowledge and current affairs questions of national and international importance are asked in the examination.
  • Mathematics syllabus will include elementary level mathematics taught till class 10 level.
  • Legal Aptitude section will test candidates on their research aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Logical reasoning section will test candidates based on their reasoning ability through pattern identification, analogies, etc.

One mark each will be rewarded for each correct answer and 0.25 will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Exam duration, weight-age and section wise marks allocation pattern is given below:                      

  • Maximum Marks: 200
  • Duration of CLAT 2020 Examination: 2 hours
  • Total Number of Questions: 200

For Postgraduate Programmes:

The postgraduate paper will consist of 150 questions.The question paper will be divided into three sections with equal marks allocated to each section.

  • Maximum Marks: 150
  • Duration of CLAT-2020: 2 hours
  • Total Number of Questions: 150
